Samuel turned six today. He was awake just after 6:30 this morning, and was bouncing all over the house. He was so excited. He informed me that he feels older and bigger now that he’s six. 
Crazy kid.
He wanted chocolate cake with blue icing, so that’s what I made him. He didn’t seem to care that it wasn’t perfect or that it leaned quite a bit (I really need to work at my cake leveling skills!). He loved it. It was a small cake so we wouldn’t get sick of eating it by the end of the week.
How is he six already? It seems just like yesterday that we got the call, “Are you ready? Because I’m in labor!”
Samuel is such a special little boy. Over the years, we’ve lost contact with his birth mother. Sometimes I wish I could just send her an email and some pictures that says, “Look at this amazing boy and how he’s grown. Thank you for letting him become my son.” I can’t thank his birth mother, but I do thank God for him. I am so blessed.
